Where to eat near the Spurs stadium in Tottenham

Looking for decent places to meet and eat before a game or concert at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? We asked food and wine writer Zeren Wilson (and Spurs fan) of the food blog Bitten and Written for his tips on where you'll want to go pre and post-event.

spursstadium

AtesAtes

402 High Rd, Tottenham Hale, London N17 9JB

Closer to Tottenham Hale tube, this spot is a little gem often missed by those not coming via Tottenham Hale tube. Good Adana wraps in fluffy flatbreads, and a very decent menu of filled Pides, mercimek çorbasi (lentil soup) and rustling Lahmacun plucked from the wood-burning oven.

BeavertownBeavertown Corner Pin

732 High Rd, London N17 0AG

This outpost of Tottenham's Beavertown Brewery taproom couldn't be handier for the stadium on match days. In addition to their beers like Neck Oil and xx there's brisket croquettes, club sarnies and burgers on the food menu.

266 High Rd, London N15 4AJ

With branches in Finsbury Park and Tottenham, this independent cafe prides itself on serving up the best of British. They do a great full English and their pastries and coffee are always on point.

The BluecoatsThe Bluecoats

614 High Road, London N17 9TA

Formerly The Pride of Tottenham (and before that The Blue Coats School For Girls - hence the name), this historic 18th century building was taken over by a team who have Ruby's in Dalston and Night Tales in their CVs. The weekday menu is burgers, wings and quesadillas (with special themes like taco Tuesdays) while weekends see breakfast dishes like their Mick Muffin on the menu.

CapitalCapital

271 Fore St, London N9 0PD

The biggest Turkish restaurant in the area, the whole Turkish caboodle is here, from the yogurt rich ‘Yogurtlu’ kebabs and small cubes of lamb 'çop shish’ (not served everywhere), to good lahmacun, lamb ribs and grilled quail.

Chick KingChick King

755 High Rd, London N17 8AH

A Tottenham institution, and possibly the best fried chicken shop in London. Run by two brothers with military precision on a match day, with queues snaking down the road for good reason. Several leagues above your average chicken shop, and worth dropping in even when there’s no match. Love it.

chukusChukus

274 High Rd, London N15 4AJ

Nigerian tapas is a thing and this supperclub turned permanent spot is serving up ojojo croquettes and quinoa jollof alongside plantain waffles and more. The brunch menu is a good option for weekend matches.

The High CrossThe High Cross

350 High Road, London, United Kingdom N17 9HT

Formerly a public toilets (we kid you not) this Tottenham pub has quickly grown a loyal fan base. They have 10 beers on tap, serve a mean Sunday roast and their sausage rolls and scotch eggs look pretty amazing.

Jerky'sJerky's

42 Fore St, London N18 2SS

Fantastic servings of Caribbean classics here. Jerk chicken; ackee and saltfish; brown stew chicken. Favourites are the curry mutton (ask for bone-in) and curry chicken dishes. Always excellent.

Maki MayoMaki Mayo

75 West Green Rd, London N15 5DA

Order a cone of Makimayo's popcorn chicken and all will be well with the world. Run by locals, who started out serving up on Brick Lane, this Korean-inspired spot is run by Gary and his mum Ah Mooi Luh. As for that mayo - choose from gangnam style, spicy mayo, wasamayo, island mayo, sweet & sour chicken and creamy mayo.

Ora BrewingOra Brewing

Unit 16a, Rosebery Industrial Park, London N17 9SR

This Italian indie brewery opens its taproom at the weekends serving up its beers and an Italian wine list, working with a range of local traders on rotation for its food offering Gaucho BBQ and sourdough pizza.

Jerky'sPasero

120A West Green Road, South Tottenham, London N15 5AA

Coffee and pastries by day switching up to wine and seasonal sharing plates by night - that's the set up at this lovely neighbourhood spot set up by an ex-Quality Chop House manager and former supper club host Genevieve Sparrow.

Perkyn'sPerkyn's

10 Vicarage Parade, West Green Road, London N15 3BL

This self-styled coffee, bottle shop and bar is good for grabbing St John doughnuts and a proper Roasting Shed coffee on the go or swinging by for snacks and craft beer in the evening. You can also get Yard Sale pizza delivered to your table here.

San MarcoSan Marco

1 Station Buildings, Bruce Grove, London, N17 6QY

Old school family-owned Italian trattoria that has been here for forty years, and still a favourite for many Spurs fans. Spaghetti Carbonara, Penne all’Arrabbiata, homemade ricotta and spinach ravioli, and it still feels like the 70s in there – what more do you want?

Tottenham StarTottenham Star

694 High Rd, London N17 0AE

Small mangal spot seconds from the ground, and the best value adana in N17. Quality may have dipped a bit in recent years, but at those prices, it still scores highly for soaking up post-match drinks.

8 Vicarage Parade, West Green Rd, London N15 3BL

One of the newest branches of the popular pizza chain, there's room in here for 20 to dine in or you can just grab and go. Our personal favourite is the TSB (Tenderstem broccoli with Parmesan) and there's usually an interesting special or collab worth trying.

645 High Rd, London N17 8AA

At first glance this might look like your standard does-it-all fast food spot, but when you know that founder Ben used to work for Gordon Ramsay and Soho House it starts to look a bit more interesting. Here with a gang? Try their Wing Roulette which gives you 12 wings in three different flavours. Their garlic butter and Parmesan tenders are amazing.
