Every so often, a big brand will come up with a London pop up idea that makes us double-check that we haven't somehow time-travelled to April 1st again. This latest from Bosch showcases exactly what we mean as they're launching a restaurant where you'll be eating off the floor. No, really.
Run by Gok Wan (starts checking the calendar one more time), the pop-up is called Floors, because of course it is. It's all to do with the launch of their fancy new vacuum with the idea being that it will clean your floor so well that you can eat off it. They clearly haven't seen our own floors. We're told there will be no tables, no plates, and no conventional seating and a tasting menu which includes:
- Lychee ceviche, served in a chilled oyster shell
- Miso salt dough baked vegetables, served with charcoal pre-ferment flatbread and a trio of compound flavoured butters
- Lotus leaf steamed meats, featuring black bean peppered beef, duck, and oyster mushroom
I guess we should be thankful that they're not serving soup.
Still, as mad as this sounds we'd probably give it a try, if we're being honest. And if you fancy doing the same, it'll just cost you £10 which is donated to charity.
