Dom Taylor's residency at The Langham was our most-read story of 2023 so news of his new Ladbroke Grove restaurant should go down well with many of you.
Marvee’s Food Shop, his new restaurant, is due to be a more laid-back affair than The Good Front Room, as part of the music and events space UNDR. Due to be a "creative twist to traditional dishes nostalgic to Dom", the menu leads with waffle versions of two Caribbean classics, the Bammy (a traditional cassava bread) and the Jamaican Festival (a deep-fried sweet bread). Those can be topped with jerk chicken, crispy spiced banana blossom or boneless curry goat.
He'll also have pastry Jamaican patties, filled with callaloo, beef, saltfish or chicken alongside oxtail gravy and a rich, sweet dark rum & raisin sauce. As for desserts, you can expect his old skool cake & custard alongside roasted plantain & molasses soft serve.
The space seats around 60, but it will, of course, offer takeaway. So if you've been missing Dom since the days of The Good Front Room, this is one to watch.
