He already has a Michelin star for his first restaurant, Casa Fofo, now chef Adolfo De Cecco is getting ready to open his second pplace, not too far away on Stoke Newington Road.
The new place is called Bianca's, named after his daughter, and it's a little bit more of a casual restaurant and wine bar than Casa Fofo. Like the chef's other restaurant, this will focus on seasonal British ingredients and sustainability. The restaurant will also have its own dedicated charcuterie room, based on the approach of traditional Italian osterias. In there, they'll be focusing on one cut at a time, like cured middle white pork collar.
As for the rest of the menu, that will include:
- Fresh pasta like pork agnolotti with smoked mackerel broth
- Sheep’s sausage with mash and crab curry
- Tamworth pork loin, bread, mustard
- Asparagus, cashew nut, salted bergamot
- Salted milk ice cream with rhubarb and seaweed
- Hazelnut and shitake mille feuille
Wine-wise, they'll have 100 bottles on offer, mainly low-intervention. The chef has apparently also been ageing special bottles, so they'll be on the menu here too.
The plan is for Bianca's to become an all-day space, so they'll soon be opening in the morning, with freshly baked breads, pastries and coffee all on the way. Casa Fofo remains hugely popular so we can see this being one to watch.
