Black Tap Burger's massive Crazy Shakes are descending on Soho

Black Tap Burger's massive Crazy Shakes are descending on Soho

If you've been around Piccadilly Square recently, perhaps on your way to The Devonshire right around the corner, you may have seen that Black Tap Burger is incoming. Not familiar with them? Let us help.

They're a New York burger chain, but they have already landed with one UK outpost over in Westfield Stratford. This is their much-more-central flagship London burger store, and as for the menu, there are two key elements to be aware of. First off, there are, of course, burgers. You'll find more traditional cheeseburgers alongside the Pizza Burger (with marinara sauce, fried mozzarella, shaved parmesan) and The Old Fashioned (with cremini mushrooms, Swiss, caramelized onion, horseradish sauce).

For this location, they're adding The London Burger, with stinking bishop cheese, Sammy Smith’s apple cider jam, watercress, radish and Dijon mustard vinaigrette.

There's also a fish & chips sandwich and a chicken burger on there, but if you're going you need to leave room for the other big part of Black Tap - the Craze Shakes. These are enormous creations where the actual shake is dominated by extras like an entire slice of cake, chocolate brownies or (with their eye firmly on the UK market) Jammie Dodgers.

As for the exclusive new shake, that's the Big Apple Shake with a cream cheese frosted rim, classic graham cracker crumble, a slice of New York cheesecake and a whole English funfair-style toffee apple. It's not subtle.

So, if you're looking for either a new burger to try or a place for dessert - this will be worth thinking about.
