Covent Garden has a new pub, but this isn't any ordinary pub. It's a little slice of Cornwall come to town, themed with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button play currently on at The Ambassadors Theatre.
The Pickled Crab is a custom-built Cornish pub that can be found in the street outside the theatre, and is based on the fictional boozer on the Cornish coast where Benjamin "meets the only woman he will ever love".
The pub will be open to audience members before the show (and during the interval) and they've gone full Cornish on its offerings. There's Proper Job beer on draught along with Cornish Orchards cider, soft drinks from Jolly's and Cornish scones and pasties too.
It really looks the part with fishing nets, signs for harbour rules and a general beach shack vibe. We applaud the creativity of the theatre's marketing team in coming up with this one and while anyone who has tickets to the play can pop in, we're just finding out whether it's also open to members of the public.
