It's been a while since he opened a new restaurant in London, but chef Adam Handling is doing something a little different for his next launch - he's opened a chocolate shop in Covent Garden.
Called rather unfussily The Adam Handling Chocolate Shop, it'll sell filled, hand-painted chocolates, the kind that you might have come across in his restaurants as petit fours. The chocolate will be single origin, single bean and as well as grinding their own beans, the team will be working closely with small producers to source chocolate. Flavours sound great, ranging from woodruff caramel and Krug Champagne to Sicilian pistachio & cherry and Cornish brown butter.
In addition to the individual chocolates, the shop will have single origin chocolate boxes to take home, chocolate-covered fruit and nuts, and chocolate nut spreads. They'll also be making hot chocolate in the store’s dedicated hot chocolate corner, where you'll be able to choose the percentage of cocoa beans, ranging from 40% to 100%. So this could well be some of the best hot chocolate in the area.
If you can't make it to Covent Garden, they will be launching a website too, so you'll be able to get the chocolates delivered anywhere in the UK soon.
