Four years down the road of having charmed the residents of Blackstock Road with their winning mix of books, coffee and wine, the founder behind BookBar is heading west. Making the announcement yesterday, founder Chrissy Ryan said that she'd be opening her second place over in Chelsea.
If you haven't been before, the concept's pretty simple and is all about promoting the social side of reading. So the original Highbury branch is a space where you can hang out and read books while enjoying a nice cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
"BookBar Chelsea will be our flagship event space," Chrissy says, "as well as serving as a bookshop and social space like our cosy Islington shop. Expect more of the things you love most: books, wine, coffee and a thriving community of avid and aspiring readers with whom to share it. With more space to hang out in, more books to discover, and an action-packed series of events, we're beyond excited to welcome you to our new space."
