Right now, you can hardly make a move in London without bumping into a new sandwich spot. The latest to join the ranks is La Spot which is getting ready to open in Fitzrovia. The Spanish-inspired place is going big on its brioche sandwiches with a whole section of the menu devoted to them.
On offer you'll find it used in:
- Pulled oxtail with red wine sauce, cheddar, black pepper, and wild rocket
- Red prawns cooked with kimchi, fresh ginger, and crispy rice
- Sauteed vegetables with garlic, green apple, tomato juice and goat (or vegan) cheese
- Slow-cooked octopus leg in onion marmalade with Makato cheese, potato julienne and hot paprika
In addition to the sarnies, there will be a range of tapas options and no fewer than three types of fries - the option with white truffle aioli and Manchego in particular is calling to us.
The man behind it is Ukrainian entrepreneur Andrii Nikonov who also has another Spanish restaurant in Kyiv. He first launched in this space as Boca a Boca, but we're told that this is now a completely new restaurant and a brand new team.
Downstairs will be a standalone bar serving up wine and cocktails including a tight menu of classic drinks along with their own creations including a pina picante.
