Reemies, by Reem Abusamra, started life as a cake delivery business and over the years has found itself a huge following, Now, the first Reemies bakery is getting ready to open.
The cake business started back in 2018 with Reem originally baking cakes in her own flat and gradually expanding to a larger kitchen in Vauxhall and a much bigger business. Over that period she also built up quite the A-list roster of clients including Idris Elba, the Ecclestone family, Millie Mackintosh and Viscount Linley. Up until now, it's been working as a collection/delivery business only, but that's changing with her first bakery.
That bakery will be in Chelsea, where you'll be able to choose those cakes in person for the first time either to take away or to eat in with tea or coffee (as long as you grab one of the three stools on offer by the counter).
Her signature cake has always been her banana cake, which is baked in a bundt and is served flipped-over, bringing the golden crispy crust to the top. That will, of course, be available in the cafe, along with more cakes that will include "Mum’s Carrot Cake" a chocolate fudge cake, a maple pecan pie with seasonal specials too. There will also be a Victoria sponge with a gluten-free version of that too. Also on the menu will be her flourless peanut butter brownie, the chocolate banana and dark chocolate chip cookies.
On the new opening, Reem says "Opening our first bakery has been more than a dream come true for me, I live and breathe this business & our cakes. For as long as I can remember I have been feeding my banana cake to friends & family. I love that I am still doing that now. " So, if you love your cakes - this is one to watch.
