Passyunk Avenue's cheesesteaks have arrived in Kensington

Passyunk Avenue's cheesesteaks have arrived in Kensington

There are certainly a lot of high-end openings around Kensington of late (we very much enjoyed the recent Krokodilos opening). But now there's something that's a little bit more affordable and certainly worth your time as a new Passyunk Avenue has launched, the first that's firmly in West London.

Taking over what was once My Old Dutch on Kensington Church Street, it follows the format from the previous Passyunks - a dive/sports bar with some exceptionally good sandwiches. Those sandwiches are probably the very best Philly cheesesteaks that you'll find in London, with plenty of options available (and you can even get a less authentic chicken version if you fancy). Also on the menu you'll find chicken wings, hoagies, hot dogs, notably great tater tots and more Americana.

That's backed up by plenty of American and London beer (including the Philly Pabst Blue Ribbon Lager), cocktails and more.

It's open now, and if you've been looking for a great Philly cheesesteak in London, this is a good place to start.
