Many things open under the radar in London, and this newish pizzeria that opened in Marylebone is one of them that we're only catching up on now. Pizza by Jagua is in Marylebone (near the currently closed Chiltern Firehouse) and is billed as a vermuteria and pizzeria. However, it tries something quite different in that the pizzas are West African-inspired. Not many details have been revealed but the pizzas on offer include:
- Jollofita - Tomato, Shakara Jollof sauce, mozzarella, scamorza
- Capra - Tomato base, Agoyin sauce, peppered goat and smoked marrow, mozzarella, pickled onion, suya seasoning
- Tutti Fromaggi - Ricotta, Parmesan, smoked cheese, mozzerella
It sounds like it might be a spin-off from nearby restaurant Shakara (as they're using their sauce), so we'll do some digging to find out more. In the meantime, if you're looking for something new on the pizza front, this is one to bear in mind.
Thanks to Hot Dinners reader Katy for the tip-off.
