Up until now, there's only been one Trullo, one of Islington's best restaurants, leaving aside its sibling restaurant Padella, of course. But now, at least for a short while, a second Trullo outpost is coming to Knightsbridge.
The restaurant is kicking off a three-month residency at Harvey Nichols, taking advantage of a week-long refurb of the original restaurant to kick things off. If you haven't been to the OG restaurant the menu is modelled on an Italian trattoria and you'll see some of Trullo's signature dishes pop up on The Fifth Floor, led by Trullo's Chef Owner Conor Gadd. On the menu, you'll find:
- Chopped beef fillet with rosemary and anchovy
- Grilled asparagus with butter and bottarga
- Beef shin ragu and pici cacio e pepe
The team will also be taking advantage of their Knightsbridge location to pimp things up a bit, so you'll also find tagliarini with Beluga caviar and a grilled Dover sole with Palourde clams and Datterini tomatoes. As for desserts, those will include ricotta doughnuts, Amalfi lemon tart, panna cotta and chocolate mousse.
Harvey Nichols wine buyers will be putting together an Italian list for the pop-up and you'll also find Trullo’s own label Gavi and Chianti on there (which, handily, you'll also be able to buy in the store). So if you haven't made it to the original in Islington, this residency should show you what you've been missing.
