A new cafe and restaurant is opening next door to The Saatchi Gallery (taking over what used to be the gallery's restaurant), called Cafe Linea. The new space is planned as an all-day opening, inspired by cafes in arcades across Europe.
Run by Greg and Felicity Godik (incidentally Greg's Dad Zeev is the founder of Gaucho so he should know his way around the restaurant business) expect the day to kick off with breads and pastries, the latter including banoffee bostocks with banana cream. The menu changes throughout the day, led by their Chef Partner Carolina Ferpozzi with dishes like ricotta dumplings with mushrooms and a sharing curried chicken pie on offer.
It should look impressive inside too, as the design is by the people responsible for Chiltern Firehouse, Dovetale, and The Standard. It's a space with huge windows with vaulted archways and plenty of light pouring in so they'll be making the most of that. They also have a pretty large terrace looking out onto the square and given that they're opening in summer, they'll be making good use of that.
Chelsea's dining scene has been evolving of late, so this could be the opening to make the most of that space next to the gallery.
