Cementing London's current love affair with all things Italian American is new East London restaurant Senza Fondo, a self-styled 'premiumised lasagneria'. The concept is all about big plates and communal dining with the key offering being an all-you-can eat lasagna for just £20. It's taken over the old Rossopomodoro site just off Hoxton Square so it's going to be a pretty large place complete with a bar at the back - the Kevin Lasagna bar (named after the Italian footballer).
Former Hawksmoor bar manager Joe Worthington is the man behind it. On his menu you'll find a mixture of generous Italian-American dishes like:
- Burrata with truffle and honey butter
- Fettucine Alfredo
- Grilled wing rib on the bone with apple mostarda
The lasagnas in question will be a slow cooked beef shin option and an artichoke one.
Eventually they'll be opening a lunchtime hatch, and that's really piqued our interest as that'll be serving up a lasangwich we need to check out.
