Michelin-starred Benares has relaunched with a new look

It opened in Mayfair 22 years ago and to start the new year Benares, the Michelin-starred Indian restaurant on Berkeley Square, has just had a big revamp. They brought in interior designer Dale Atkinson, of Rosendale Design (who also designed the recently-opened Row on 5 from Jason Atherton) to overhaul things. The redesign takes in the entrance, the bar and the main dining room. 

As you can see from the slider above, that's meant adding a lot of colour to the proceedings among other changes. Here's more of the new look:

To go along with the new look there's also a new menu by Executive Chef Sameer Taneja, with dishes including Dum Ka Truffle Shorba - a winter truffle and rabbit stew which is probably a great dish in this cold weather. The new look Benares is open now - and that new menu will be served from 10 February.
