Panadera is closing its Kentish Town bakery

It's one of Kentish Town's best bakeries but even the allure of their amazing ube tarts and pandesal buns hasn't been enough to save Filipino bakery and cafe Panadera from the threat of closure. Posting on Instagram, owner and co-founder Florence Mae revealed that they would be closing at the end of this month.

"With a very heavy heart, I have to share that Panadera will be leaving Kentish Town this January," she wrote. "After facing landlord difficulties and operational challenges, I had to make the painful decision to close this chapter."

"It’s where my dreams of sharing Filipino baking with the world first came to life," Florence added."Saying goodbye to this space is devastating."

The good news for their many fans is that you'll still be able to get their legendary sandos and pastries in their Marylebone bakery beside Selfridges. We had one of their egg sandos there at the weekend and can testify to it being one of this city's great sandwiches.
