Angelina has been a big success in Dalston and while their other restaurant Dai Chi didn't last the distance in Soho, they're sticking to what they do best in the City by opening a second Angelina.
Called Osteria Angelina, it'll be opening in the Nolton Folgate development by Shoreditch station that's seen Kolamba East open, and which also has the upcoming Noisy Oyster, so it's turning out to have a pretty diverse food offering. Osteria Angelina itself will keep the mix of Italian and Japanese cooking that the original Dalston restaurant features.
First off, there will be their signature "fresh pasta with a Japanese twist" and there will be eight of those dishes on the menu, changing regularly. Then there's the grill section where they'll be serving up big cuts of seafood and meat from their Binchotan fired grill. The restaurant will serve up its own version of Gran Bollito Misto (a Piedmont boiled meat dish) which will be dished out from a trolley tableside (we do love a bit of trolley action). We'll have more details of that menu closer to the opening date.
As for the look of the place, it's all set around an open kitchen (with counter seating available) and you'll be able to see the pasta-making in action. On the drinks front, there will be over 300 Italian wines alongside a large sake offering.
