Dave's Hot Chicken turn up the spice level for their arrival in London

If you're the kind of person who opts for lemon & herb when they go to Nando's then keep scrolling because you're not going to want anything to do with Dave's Hot Chicken. The cult US chicken chain, which originated in Nashville, arrives in London this week and - as that name suggests - they turn up the heat when it comes to their burgers and tenders.

The chain was set up by three friends in an East Hollywood car park back in 2017. Since then it's become an official cult in the States with A-lister investors including Drake, Samuel L. Jackson, and Usher. Pretty much all the chicken is high on the spice levels, but they have one particular option that they're particularly famous for. The reaper chicken is spiced with Carolina Reaper chilli pepper which back in 2013 was dubbed the world's hottest pepper by the Guinness Book Of World Records.

Having previously trolled the Brits saying that we couldn't handle the heat, Dave's will be allowing UK customers to order The Reaper as long as they sign a waiver first. If that sounds like too much pain for too little gain there are other spice levels ranging from No Spice, Lite Mild, Mild and Medium through to Hot and Extra Hot.

Sides will include cheese fries, pickles, kale slaw and mac & cheese. If you are going for the spicier levels you'll be wanting to order one of their top-loaded shakes which come with a choice of cinnamon crunch, M&Ms or Oreos on the top.
