The viral sensation Spud Bros is popping up in London

The viral sensation Spud Bros are popping up in London

They have become a massive viral hit on TikTok, with enormous queues developing around their Preston truck and now Spud Bros have arrived in London.

Their original Preston baked potato truck, despite being a fixture of the town's Flag Market for 70 years, surged in popularity when Jacob and Harley Nelson took over the promotion of the social feed. Going for a more irreverent tone, they've grown to over 3 million followers on TikTok (with another half a million on Instagram) and have developed an international following. But now those people who visit them from overseas will only have to head to Soho's Archer Street to try their wares.

The pop-up, dubbed Spud Bros Express, has opened in the space where the Jamie Oliver Pasta Dreams pop-up used to be. As is only fitting, there were massive queues down the street when they opened at the weekend, and you can expect the queues to only get longer as the word gets out.

If you manage to brave the queue, you'll be able to get your hands on the same kind of food you can get from the original truck. The cheese and beans are by far the biggest hit, but you'll have more options like chilli cheese and the odd special.

There have been complaints about the potatoes being almost twice as expensive as the original. However, we think that most of you will understand that a shop just minutes from Piccadilly Circus comes with slightly more overheads than a food truck. And it's still cheaper than a train ticket to Preston.

The pop-up should be there in the run-up to Christmas - we'll try to find out how long they're planning to stay beyond that.
