Their first pub opened in Shoreditch only earlier this year, but a second Nancy Spains is already on the way (and we now wouldn't be surprised if more were planned).
It's taken over the space that was once City pub, The Wine Lodge (which appears to have been closed for over five years). As before, it's run by Kerry-born brothers Peter and Nicholas O’Halloran and they'll be bringing over what's already proved to be a very popular formula in Shoreditch. That's essentially a version of a traditional Irish pub viewed through a London lens.
That means there will be plenty of live music, Murphy's stout as opposed to Guinness, Tayto crisps (although we can't confirm if they're the proper Tayto) and the odd residencies on the food front. The great Emerald Eats recently popped up at their Shoreditch pub, so hopefully they'll do the same in the City.
The new pub has also got a big basement space, so if you're thinking of a location for a Christmas party, this might be worth keeping in mind.
