They're responsible for serving up one of Shoreditch's most popular brunch menus. Now Friends of Ours are hoping to bring that same joy to West Londoners. This weekend they launch a six-month pop up brunch restaurant inside the Serpentine North Gallery's Zaha Hadid building.
The new restaurant will take over from what used to be a Benugo, serving up the Friends of Ours brunch-with-a-twist dishes for a daytime offering. If you haven't been to the Shoreditch original, they say "We take culinary inspiration from every corner of the world". So think dishes like:
- Baked brioche toast, quince compote, sour blackberries, pistachio custard, toasted pepitas & lemon sorrel
- Bo Kho - Spicy Vietnamese brisket stew, pickled carrots, crispy shallots & herbs, garlic & coriander bahn mi
- Çilbir - Poached eggs with citrus labna, nduja butter, smoked eggplant, dill & toasted focaccia
If you love a good coffee then you'll be able to enjoy one of their own speciality coffees overlooking the park, as well as being able to take some home with you. The space is licensed so there'll also be a short list of wine, and beer from the East London Brewery too.
