Voyage with Adam Simmonds is the new restaurant at King's Cross hotel The Megaro

It looks like King's Cross is about to get another very interesting dining spot, with top chef Adam Simmonds coming in to take over the main restaurant at The Megaro Hotel. He'll be launching Voyage with Adam Simmonds there.

If you're not familiar with Simmonds, he's previously had one star at Danesfield House and recently in London, he's been one of the driving forces behind Home Kitchen in Primrose Hill, the restaurant that's helping the homeless. The King's Cross restaurant feels like it has more in common with his Danesfield House work, and apparently he's taking Scandinavia as one of the driving influences.

A taste of the opening menu includes:

  • Oysters with fermented apple & white asparagus
  • Celeriac, yeast, oakmoss & walnut
  • Venison with ember-roasted beetroot, blackberry vinegar & thyme crumb
  • Roasted koji barley ice cream served with hazelnut milk & sobacha

The dining room itself, which is an impressive light-filled room, is currently getting a complete redesign. Expect to see a little more of the aforementioned Scandinavian aesthetic in the new look. "Uncluttered yet welcoming" seems to be the approach they're going for.

Other than Midland Grand Dining Room, which is very French in its outlook, there's nothing quite like this in King's Cross so we're keen to see just what they have planned here. It's definitely one to watch.
