Andrew Wong announces a residency at The Donovan Bar in Mayfair

Andrew Wong's food is coming to The Donovan Bar in Mayfair

If you've been struggling to get a table at A Wong, even more so since it won the second Michelin star, now there's another way to try chef Andrew Wong's food. He's just teamed up with The Donovan Bar in Mayfair for a three-month residency (and two more big-name chefs are lined up behind him).

Brought in by Brown's Hotel Chef Director Adam Byatt (also responsible for Trinity in Clapham), Wong will be adding a whole range of new dishes to the bar menu, including:

  • Scalded oysters with ‘fish fragrant’ aubergine sauce
  • Crispy wonton ‘prawn cocktail’
  • Wagyu beef with beef xo sauce
  • Chicken char sui with liquorice and dehydrated raspberry

The cocktails at the Donovan bar are excellent (led by the legendary Salvatore Calabrese), so this sounds like it's going to make the bar well worth a return trip (and it's walk-in only so you don't have to book).

Once Andrew Wong is done, the next chef residency will be Scotland's Tom Kitchin in February. He'll be followed by top seafood chef Mitch Tonks in June. It's a very impressive line-up.
