13/12/24 - updated with more opening details
One of London's best pasta restaurants is gearing up for a new opening. They already have popular restaurants on Old Street and in Fitzrovia, and now Officina 00 are going even more central for their next restaurant. They're planning to open in Covent Garden, taking on one of the newly developed spaces on Dryden Street (just off Drury Lane and around the corner from Covent Garden).
They bill themselves as an artisanal pasta restaurant (and pasta workshop) but they're also trying something else at this new location - pizza. Billed "Nonna's pizza" it will be their take on traditional pizza in rutiello, served in a pan at the table.
There will be pasta too, with many of the signature dishes making an appearance like their fried cacio a pepe raviolo and panko lasagna snacks as well as their huge XL double ravioli. The menu here will also include:
- Occhi with lamb genovese, sour parsley pesto and aged provolone
- Ink tagliatelle with baby octopus, yellow peppers and taggiasche olives
- Curly pappardelle with beef short rib ragu, meatballs and ricotta.
As for the restaurant itself, expect something similar to their other locations, including a central pasta lab where you can sit up at the counter.
