As things in London start to heat up in the weeks leading up to the festive period, for one London venue it got altogether too hot. A TikTok video first alerted us to the fact that there had been a fire in Vinegar Yard over the weekend. And now the street food space has confirmed it.
"On Sunday morning around 3am there was a small fire at Vinegar Yard," they said. "Thankfully no one was hurt... but our Courtyard Bar will be closed for a little bit while we sort things out."
The police confirmed that "A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted arson." But the good news is that the fire was contained and, as organisers were at pains to point out, "the main Vinegar Yard site is open as normal."
So if you'd like to go and show them some support this weekend, they'd probably appreciate that.
