Bottarga takes over from Chicama, shifting to the Mediterranean

Bottarga takes over from Chicama, shifting to the Mediterranean

Recently Chicama, from the people behind Pachamama, closed in Chelsea. However, they've hung on to the space and are opening a new restaurant there pretty sharpish, called Bottarga.

This new opening will actually be closer to the group's restaurant in Notting Hill, Zephyr, albeit a more casual version, and will see them switch to a Mediterranean influence. The menu here also sees the return of Pachamama's original chef, Adam Rawson, who's working on it with Greek Executive Chef, Tzoulio Loulai. That chef also has some very handy sources - his father will be producing the olive oil that's used in the restaurant in Greece.

A taste of the menu here includes:

  • Mushroom Pastichio topped with shavings of thyme Graviera cheese and black truffle
  • Whole burnt butter potatoes with roasted garlic aioli
  • Burnt original beans piura porcelana chocolate cheesecake with salted caramel chocolate sauce

There will, of course, be bottarga on the menu in the form of golden bottarga orzo.

As for the look of the place, the same structure as Chicama will remain, but with all-new artwork and a "newly improved" terrace that will be available in winter too.
