Motcombs comes to St John's Wood after over 40 years in Belgravia

Motcombs comes to St John's Wood after over 40 years in Belgravia

10/11/24 - updated with the opening date

Recently we had the team from Medlar waiting 15 years to open their second restaurant (Cornus). Now Belgravia restaurant Motcombs is significantly one-upping them on the procrastination front. The Belgravia restaurant opened 42 years ago in 1982 and only now have they decided to open a second restaurant.

For their long-awaited second coming, they'll be opening in St John's Wood. The original restaurant spans multiple cuisines on the menu, taking in "British, European and Asian favourites". Promised for the new menu are their eggs benedict with honey-baked ham, Motcombs shepherd’s pie, Dover sole (grilled or meunière) and their vodka penne. The new outpost will be going one further, adding a New York-style pizza section to the menu.

Taking over what used to be the St John's Wood Chucs, the design is intended to remind diners of their first restaurant and they'll have plenty of paintings on the wall like the Belgravia original. They will have a terrace too, but this one is a little less extensive, fitting 16 people.
