Stokey locals who fancy grabbing an empanada will soon have somewhere on their doorsteps to do just that. De Nadas who already have two empanaderias in London are opening on Stoke Newington Church Street and this sounds like their biggest place yet. In addition to the general bakery space with 20 seats there's also going to be a vinyl wine room at the back where you can sit in, enjoy some tunes and wine along with your empanadas.
If you haven't been to their other two places, then here's a bit of the back story. The group was set up by Argentinian chef Nico Buyo with his business partner Ñako Martinez. When we tell you that Martinez also used to be the editor of Kerrang! Spain then the vinyl room starts to make more sense.
On sale will be 15 varieties of empanadas with meat, vegetarian and plant-based fillings, as well as sweet options. There's a handy lunch box offering too with a trio of empanadas and salad for anyone working from home.
Flavours include spicy lamb, Malbec onions and smoked cheddar or the classic beef. They're also introducing some new vegan options, just in time for this opening.
"Stokey has an amazing restaurant scene," says Martinez. "We are excited to be opening our third shop there."
