Cookie lovers in Islington should keep an eye out for the opening of new space Crumb this autumn which is promising to bring NYC style thick, gooey cookies to the denizens of N1.
They're opening in a teeny space on Camden Passage making it more of a cookie hatch than a cafe - but one that also sells coffee to go. The endeavour is the brainchild of baker Amy Gastman who also runs a vegan bakery Eat By Amy after leaving her job on the Waitrose Food Magazine.
As she explained to Hot Dinners, "Crumb offers a grab-and-go experience with treats that are 100% plant-based—but you wouldn't know it." There will be four core flavours on offer (one of which will be gluten-free) and a monthly changing special which for opening month will be The Parent Trap: a peanut cookie stuffed with a whole Oreo.
Coffee is being supplied by Hertfordshire-based roastery Campbell & Syme. "We’ve chosen a nutty chocolaty blend to perfectly compliment the cookies," says Amy.
