A new food, drinks and events space is coming to Dalston. Called Dalston Yard, it comes from Dominic Cools-Lartigue, the man who opened The Tramshed Project and before that Street Feast.
Dalston Yard does sound similar to the Tramshed Project (and also Peckham Levels) featuring a mix of events, art, music and more. Of course, it's the food and drink aspect that we're most interested in. There will be at least one new permanent restaurant alongside various residencies and even though we have only basic info on them at this stage, they are sounding rather promising.
First up is Andrew Clarke (of Acme Fire Cult) who is launching a new restaurant, the Butcher of Dalston, which is being called an "international chop house". Joining him at the opening will be Budgie Montoya (Sarap) and Gizzi Erskine although what they're bringing to the yard hasn't been revealed yet. There will also be Roseau, which they're calling a "late-night bakehouse" with "seasonally inspired flatbreads, fresh coffee and natural wine".
On top of that, there will be seven bars to choose from, across a site that's 27,000 sq ft - it's in the space where the original Street Feast used to be.
That's all we know so far. As soon as we get more details about the menus we'll let you know. Hopefully there will be at least one milkshake on offer, or that's a missed trick there.
