Dalston Yard is now Yardlife, a three-month preview of the real thing

Dalston Yard brings new restaurants, residencies, bars and lots more

Last summer there were bug plans for a new food, drinks and events space in Dalston. Called Dalston Yard, it was the brainchild of Dominic Cools-Lartigue, the man who opened The Tramshed Project and before that Street Feast.

However, things all went very quiet as opening plans were put on hold. But now it's somewhat unexpectedly back, albeit in a temporary new form.

Billed as a preview of the real thing, Yardlife by Dalston Yard will be popping up in the same space for three months (it's where Street Feast once was). Very much like a version of Arcade Food Hall or similar food courts, there are multiple kitchens here, but it's a notably interesting line-up, including:

  • Ruben’s Reubens - with tacos and more
  • Heard - Smash burgers from Jordan Bailey of two-Michelin-starred Aimsir
  • James Cochran - bringing back the gourmet fried chicken sometimes seen at 1251
  • Andrew Clarke (Acme Fire Cult) - serving steaks, chops, prime cuts and ribs on a live fire pit
  • Scott Hallsworth (Freak Scene) - twists on South East Asian cuisine
  • Winehaus - natural wines, cheese & more
  • Winter Pudding Pantry - serving just what is says, including a pear and brown butter tart

There will be separate bars too, including the 5 Star Dive Bar by Rich Woods (aka The Cocktail Guy). And in January, there will also be kitchens from Gizzi Erskine and Dee’s Kitchen.

Alongside all the food, there will be DJs at the weekend and lots more music planned over the coming months. Come Spring 2025, the rest of Dalston Yard should be ready, so expect more to come.
