Mr Porter steakhouse takes over the lower ground of the Park Lane Hilton

Mr Porter steakhouse takes over the basement of the Park Lane Hilton

First things first - just in case you're wondering, the mail-order fashion company hasn't decided to open a restaurant business. This Mr Porter is actually a "modern steakhouse" that originates from Amsterdam from the Entourage Group and is opening in the Park Lane Hilton.

That particular Hilton has been going through some changes of late. We recently revealed that Shanghai Me will be taking over from Galvin at Windows on the top of the building. Now at the exact opposite end of the hotel, Mr Porter is taking over the lower ground floor space (that once hosted Trader Vic's, which closed down in 2022 after 60 years). This is actually going to be the third Mr Porter restaurant as it's also opened in Barcelona (and is popping up in Ibiza too).

Taking a look at the Amsterdam menu, there's a whole carpaccio section (including zucchini, sea bass and roasted potato carpaccio as well as the more traditional beef). There is also, of course, a large meat section that has all the steaks you could need as well as lamb racks, baby back ribs, slow-cooked lamb ossobucco and more.

As well as being a steakhouse, Mr Porter is also billing itself as a "chic lounge" where the main bar includes a "wine library". So if you're staying at the hotel, this could be one of the main places for a cocktail.
