It's been just two years since the East London hotel One Hundred Shoreditch opened its doors, but it's already changed both of its restaurants in that short time. On the ground floor Sticks 'n' Sushi has taken over from the original spot Goddard & Gibbs and now on the rooftop, the unimaginatively named The Rooftop has given way to Kaso.
Although the look hasn't changed, the menu certainly has. Previously it was all about tacos but that's now moved to a Eastern Mediterranean vibe. Head chef Ilknur Celik is behind the new menu for which she's taken inspiration from having grown up in Istanbul. Celik started her career working in a Turkish butchers before coming in house at Soho House Istanbul at their restaurants.
Dishes on the launch menu include:
- Grilled Octopus with Samphire
- Roast Aubergine with Zhoug and Pine Nuts
- Lamb Cutlets with Fig & Pistachio Salsa
- Muhallebi; Greek mastic, pistachio and rose petals
Of course the real draw here is the mix of sky-high views over London and a large open terrace, which will be great if the British summer ever decides to make an appearance.
