What happens when two viral food businesses get in bed with each other? We're about to find out as Alley Cats pizzeria has just joined forces with TikTok butter merchant (and restaurateur) Thomas Straker.
If you haven't been to Alley Cats already it's easy to find it when meandering through Marylebone - it's the place with the perma queue outside. For the rest of the month, they'll be adding Straker's Burnt Red Chilli Butter to their menu in the new, limited edition All Things Butter x Alley Cats Dough Balls starter.
Straker, when he isn't causing a storm on social with his employment practices, first came to everyone's attention during lockdown when his homemade butter videos turned him into a TikTok sensation. It also led to a new business venture All Things Butter.
His batch-churned butter for Alley Cats comes from a farm just outside Glastonbury which is then mixed with chillies charred in Alley Cats’ pizza oven. It's served as a butter dipper for Alley Cats' oven-cooked pizza bread bites topped with Grana Padano. And, to be fair, that does sound very enticing.
