Back in the dark days of Covid when London was coming out of its second lockdown The Corinthia London surprised us all by discovering a hidden garden rooftop space for a summer pop-up by its celebrity restaurateur and chef Tom Kerridge.
Now they've decided to revisit that space with a bar pop-up by the master mixologist Salvatore Calabrese. Calabrese's Velvet bar at the hotel is going to take over the alfresco space for a collaboration with Campari for the summer.
The terrace, if you haven't been there before, is hidden above the central courtyard of the hotel's Garden restaurant. The drinks list will be suitably Italian seaside inspired with cocktails including a Velvet Garibaldi, a Mediterranean Negroni and a V Peach Bellini. They'll also be serving wine and Champagne up here along with an aperitivo bar menu of Sicilian olives, salami Milano and grissini.
"It will be the most exciting bar to visit in London this summer," says Salvatore. "In fact, I am considering cancelling my holiday on the Amalfi Coast and just sitting there, soaking up the London sunshine and sipping a Campari cocktail instead.”
We might just join him.
