Mezcal bar Doña has found the perfect pairing for its cocktails - it's launched a restaurant. The new restaurant marks the bar's move from pop-up to permanent on this part of Stoke Newington High Street. Serving up Latin American fusion dishes, the key thing is that everything is made in-house, from the dough for the empanadas to the salsa roja.
Running the kitchen is Honduran-born chef Karla Zuniga who was also part of the Breddos Tacos and Tigre Tacos residencies that had taken over this space at Doña over the last couple of years.
Her launch menu is going to feature dishes like:
- Mezcal Chicken Skewers - marinated for 24 hours in Doña's own Dangerous Don mezcal
- Doñitas - Honduran arepas filled with creamy beans, avocado & salad
- Tamalitos - corn and black bean dough steamed in banana leaves
- We're also keen to try her Venezuelan Quesillo which is a caramel flan.
The restaurant will start by opening on Fridays and Saturdays but expect them to expand beyond those days as they get established.
