His time at Birch in Croydon was cut short, but Lee Westcott is staying in London for his next two ventures. He's apparently on the hunt for an East London pub but before that happens, he's setting up shop in Robin and Sarah Gill's Bottle + Rye in Brixton for a six-week pop-up.
It's going to be French-themed, with a healthy amount of foraged ingredients included too. A taste of the menu includes:
- Carlingford Oyster, elderflower and fermented wild garlic
- Grilled New Forest asparagus, seaweed & sauce vierge
- Pâté De Campagne, Darby’s sourdough and house pickles
- Aged sirloin steak tartare, Burford brown egg and crispy potato
- Cornish bouillabaisse, gurnard & mussels served with grilled baguette and rouille
- Yorkshire rhubarb choux bun
Apparently, it's the first of a series of pop-ups in South London, so you might see Lee in your neck of the woods before too long.
