Mexican/Japanese Azteca Öme in Battersea is a follow-up to the Chelsea original

Mexican/Japanese Azteca Öme in Clapham is a follow-up to the Chelsea original

They've been a success in Chelsea for 18 years, and now Mexican restaurant Azteca has decided it's time for a second restaurant. They're heading over to Battersea for the follow-up, Azteca Öme.

In Battersea, they're moving more towards a menu that mixes in Japanese cuisine with Mexican, while also using British produce. So that means adding dishes like tacos of grilled miso cod with pickled daikon and salsa roja alongside raw dishes like tiradito of bream with seaweed crumb, cancha and ponzu. On top of that, you can expect:

  • Grilled whole cornish mackerel with jalapeno, miso dressing
  • Mixed mushroom tobanyaki on the grill,
  • Maitake mushroom tacos with, artichoke puree, salsa negro blackened jalapeno

The space itself, taking over what used to be The Breakfast Club, will have a small terrace outside like that restaurant before it, and also a late night bar called "La Fiesta".
