The people behind La Mia Mamma, Italian restaurants in Chelsea and Notting Hill which got a big push by featuring on Stanley Tucci's "Searching for Italy", are getting ready to try something different with their next opening.
Opening next door to their Notting Hill restaurant, taking over what used to be the La Mia Mamma deli, is Fish & Bubbles. This is their "panini di mare" aperitivo bar which mainly features paninis with seafood fillings and lots of prosecco. Some of those filled paninis will include:
- Tonno Subito - Cacio e pepe and basil cream, tuna tartare, sweet and sour courgette carpaccio, roasted tomato, stracciatella di burrata cheese and rocket
- Polp Fiction - Slow-cooked octopus in a rustic Apulian tomato & basil sauce, fried crisps, Nduja and Mascarpone mayo.
- Il Capogambero - Apulian capocollo cured smoked pork neck, marinated sautéed prawns, spicy sauteed cime di rapa (wild broccoli) and stracciatella di burrata.
- BocaDILLO ad alta voce - Fried calamari ring, lemon infused ricotta mousse, anchovies marinated cime di rapa
We have to admit, all those sound pretty great. They'll have more dishes alongside those, including a "Tuscan Sun Poke Bowl", a raw fish platter, fritto misto and more. it all sounds like a pretty good addition to the thriving Notting Hill food scene.
