This weekend a new East London restaurant/wine bar opened its doors officially, and there are a number of reasons why you should have Yuki Bar on your radar.
The key point of interest is the man behind it, Yukiyasu Kaneko. Kaneko was formerly the sommelier at Noma and also P Franco before working with former Koya chef Junya Yamasaki at Yess Aquatic in LA. This will be his first solo project. It's being billed as a small restaurant (with space for just over 20 inside) serving up natural wines and a short snacks menu.
The food menu, we're told, will take a European focus, drawing inspiration from Italy and Spain., using "seasonal products from sustainable UK-based farmers and will change daily based on availability of the best products."
Now to the important bit - the wine. Kaneko has put together a list which he describes as "a very considered selection of the world's best natural wines where customers can try rare bottles."
That's all we know about it right now. It's walk-ins only and open Wednesday to Sunday at the moment.
