Franklin & Baines is serving up steak and cocktails inside Clapham's Aquum

A new restaurant is gearing up to open in Clapham, taking what they describe as a 'permanent residency" inside the Aquum nightclub on the high street. Franklin & Baines is going big on steaks and has employed the services of Fernando Lerroude, previously Master Griller at The Gaucho group, as a consultant chef to show they mean business.

They'll be offering all manner of cuts including flat iron, rump, sirloin, t-bone and a tomahawk for two. If you're looking for alternative dishes there'll also be meat-free options including BBQ corn ribs and roasted spiced cauliflower with crispy capers.

The duo behind it are restauranteur Olivier Cohen (Bordelaise) and Ashley Letchford who runs The Jam Tree pubs. Their plans for this latest venture sound like they want to make it a lively spot at the weekends with DJs and live music along with bottomless lunches.

Plans for a roof terrace come the spring mean it should also be a popular place for alfresco dining when the weather cheers up.
