If like us you covet the amazing crockery you see in London restaurants then the arrival of the new shop at Akub in Notting Hill will be of interest to you. They've just launched an online shop to help promote the Palestinian suppliers and makers whose products are used in the restaurant.
The launch collection comprises nine stoneware pieces by ceramist Nur Minawi that have been hand-made and crafted using traditional ceramic methods. There are plates, glazed deep bowls, espresso cups and more on offer.
As owner Fadi Kattan explains: "Supporting a Palestinian designer was incredibly important to Rasha, the team at Akub and myself. We always get asked in the restaurant about the crockery, made up of bowls and plates for everyday use, and we hope guests can enjoy the authenticity of these designs at home."
In addition to the crockery, you'll also be able to go into the restaurant now and buy one of nine wines to take away including those from the restaurant's main supplier, Ashkar Winery. Their wine is made with grapes from, among other places, vineyards in Upper Galilee.
The online ceramics shop is now up and running and you can pick up the wines in person.
