How an Islington greasy spoon became part of Luke Littler's World Darts Championship journey

luke littler bigs up islington cafe

Up until this week, some of the best-known places for breakfast in Islington were probably The Breakfast Club on Camden Passage or maybe Ottolenghi on Upper Street. But following the explosion of interest in the World Darts Championship and, more specifically, the teenage finalist Luke Littler, a very different kind of N1 cafe has stolen the limelight.

Cafe Millennium on Chapel Market turned out to be the place where the darts star liked to go as part of his pre-match routine. As Littler explained on TV when asked whether his preparation for the World Final would change or would he continue with the same routine he said: "Do what I've been doing. In the morning go for my ham and cheese omelette. Then for lunch I will have my pizza."

The old school cafe in Angel does a nice line in full English breakfasts along with pies and mash as well as serving up the darts champ's favourite omelette. It'll be interesting to see if all the good press ends up giving them a boost in business.
