29/2/24 - updated with more details about the opening
They already have a successful restaurant in Covent Garden (which also doubled in size after opening) as well as a wine bar and now The Oystermen, Matt Lovell & Rob Hampton, are gearing up for another.
The new restaurant (and cocktail bar) is called thirty7, as it's on 37 Bedford Street (taking over an old Holland and Barrett site). For this opening, they're taking their influences from far and wide, including New York, Paris and beyond with a brasserie-style offering. For that, they've brought in Head Chef Grant Clark who's previously worked in New York (at the Breslin and Hearth) and more recently at Cafe Murano and Harrods Social.
A taste of his menu includes:
- Brixham Hake with chorizo fregula
- Vadouvan Spiced Roast Cornish ‘Cull Yaw’ Mutton with charred aubergine, yoghurt, and mint,
- The thirty7 burger with raclette and Dijon-mayonnaise
And, because it is The Oystermen after all, there will be an oyster special on the menu every night.
As for the layout, it's a restaurant on the ground floor and a bar in the basement and they're aiming for a Manhattan vibe (so expect lots of exposed brick).
