In what will be their fifth restaurant, Temper are heading west to Paddington, taking over the space that once held Scandinavian restaurant Kupp.
Flame-grilled meat is primarily what it's all about in Temper, with plenty of steak cuts available, including porterhouse, picaña, châteaubriand and T-bone, with sauces like beef-fat bearnaise and Korean barbecue on the side. As well as the main steaks, they'll also have more beefy dishes like the beef-fat cornbread with gochujang, aged beef nachos and beef-fat potatoes topped with melted garlic Raclette. Their tacos will be making an appearance too.
That said, the Paddington Temper will be a little different from the others in the group, serving the Temper Parilla, an Argentinian-style mixed grill. That'll be brought to the table on the grill itself, featuring 28-day dry aged 500g steak on the bone, salt and pepper pork sausage, rare breed beef sausage, black pudding, smoked brisket and smoked pork chop, triple-cooked chips and, just to make you feel better about all of that, their house salad.
Meanwhile, mezcal will remain a big thing on the drinks front and margaritas and palomas will lead the cocktail menu. Anyone who went to Kupp will know that this is a big old space and Temper will have a large outdoor terrace, open all year round.
