Naughty Piglets chef to launch the kitchen at The Bear in Camberwell

Naughty Piglets chef to launch the kitchen at The Bear in Camberwell

A Hot Dinners exclusive

Earlier this year, The Bear in Camberwell finally reopened after being shut for six years. It was brought back to life by the team of Joe Sharratt and Teddy Roberts and now they're getting ready to kick off a very interesting food offering.

Coming in early 2024, they'll be opening The Kitchen, where Sharrat will be running the kitchen. He's worked at Petrus with Marcus Wareing and as head chef at Adam Byatt's Trinity, but is probably best known for opening Naughty Piglets in Brixton. In Camberwell, they'll be serving many of the dishes that you might have come across at Naughty Piglets as well as new dishes just for The Bear. They'll also have a new snacks menu including croquettes and xo prawn toast. However, it's the promise of mini duck and wild garlic kievs that we're really looking forward to.

Until then, there's still food to try out at the Bear as they're bringing in "Alessio’s Pizza" to take care of any hungry pubgoers. That's open from today and every Thursday to Sunday.

So this all sounds very promising for Camberwell and we'll bring you more details about The Bear's kitchen closer to the opening date.
