Over the summer, Queen's Park residents have had an early look at a brand new restaurant on Lonsdale Road. LULA has been running residencies and private events for the past month or so, gearing up to today's opening. Describing themselves as an 'all-day dining Modern European restaurant' the really interesting thing about this place is the executive chef they've brought in.
Paul Delrez may not be a household name here, but he is massive on social media. The former Top Chef contestant and owner of Brussels bistro La Guinguette en Ville has just shy of three-quarters of a million followers on Instagram where he showcases his, and we quote, "hot regressive cuisine". Here in London, he's teamed up with Andrew Dax who was behind the now-closed Chameleon on Marylebone Road.
At LULA - which has taken over the space that Lino was going to be opening in - the idea is to make you feel like you're on holiday rather than in damp West London.
Dishes on the launch menu include:
- Scallops with spinach, roasted garlic, lemon butter sauce and chives
- Wild herbs cured salmon, with muscat grape, coriander flower and habanero
- Bone marrow steak tartar
- Onglet steak with peppercorn barollo shallot sauce, pomme paille, and watercress.
As for the look of the place, the restaurant runs over two floors and upstairs is a private dining space called The Loft. It'll also be open for breakfast and brunch at the weekend and we think that will be particularly popular.
