Opening its doors in Islington is The 411, a new bar from the Incipio Group who are also behind such behemoths as The Prince in Earl's Court and Pergola in Paddington. Fittingly they've found an equally capacious space for their latest bar The 411, taking over the old Jamie's Italian site at Angel.
The 411 is being billed as a 'neighbourhood bar' taking NYC's Soho as its inspiration. That translates to the food menu as a whole load of US specials like smash burgers and frickles along with Reuben, Po'boy and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches.
Drinks have a similar stateside flavour with house cocktails including a Lychee and Blueberry Daisy, New York Sour, Tea Cup Julep and a seasonal Old Fashioned that'll change according to what's in season.
Every Saturday there will be a bottomless meal offering - here it's bottomless pizza and Texan Picantes (a habanero-infused bourbon concoction), although you could swap that out for Prosecco or Beer "if you can't handle the heat".
It's good to see this space reopening after so many years left empty.
