London Stock is a restaurant that has made a name for itself in Wandsworth and now they're doing something very unexpected - moving right into the heart of Mayfair. They're taking over the space of the recently closed Amethyst (which shut soon after the chef departed). It's an impressive space and we're yet to learn if they'll be holding onto the somewhat crazy central table.
Led by chefs Assem Abdel Hady and Andres Bernal, and with former Hide chef Head Chef Sebastian Rast leading the kitchen, it's going to be a tasting menu-only affair. That'll be mainly based around an 8-course set menu in the evening at £85, although they'll have other options, including a set lunch for £40, all of which is pretty reasonable for this part of town.
The menu's seasonal, but here's a taste of what they've recently been offering over in Wandsworth:
- Glazed Rabbit Leg Girolles - Peach - Almonds
- Cherry Tomato Risotto Basil - Parmesan - White Tomato Foam
- Barbecued Beef Fillet Black Garlic - Spiced Carrot - Mushroom
They have a vegetarian tasting menu there too, so we'll assume that will make the move to Mayfair. It's a big move indeed, and it'll be interesting to see how they settle into the plush new surroundings.
