Rowley Leigh pops up in Notting Hill with Chez Rowley residency

Rowley Leigh pops up in Notting Hill with Chez Rowley residency

It's been a while since we last saw chef Rowley Leigh in a London kitchen. After closing  Le Cafe Anglais in 2014 (his follow-up to Kensington Place) he helped open Cafe Monico on Shaftesbury Avenue but has been relatively quiet since then. But now the chef is back, popping up at a Notting Hill residency.

Chez Rowley will be an Italian bistro, featuring dishes like:

  • Raw bavette, cep toast and gribiche dressing
  • Seared mackerel with bread sauce and pickled gooseberries

He's also getting into the whole chicken trend that's becoming a thing in London restaurants. Here, it's poulet antiboise - a whole chicken roasted with anchovies, black olives, garlic, onion, thyme and white wine and served with hispi cabbage and pangrattato.  Expect those dishes to evolve over the time of the residency.

So if you've been missing Rowley Leigh's cooking, you'll definitely want to head down to this.
